Hello Fellow Travelers,
Can you believe we are completing the first month of 2016? Time is moving so fast!
What has your attention right now in your life?
If you are reading this and are on my sacred email list of fellow travelers, you are a thoughtful, soulful person. You may be looking around and wondering. What is my purpose at this time, on this planet? What can I give, what can I add? Or how can I survive when all around seems so...fast, wild, crazy, intense?
Take a deep breath and read on...
Last week a Hopi Propechy writing I read a few years back sang inside my head like a commercial jingle. Its sentiment touched me deeply then and here it is back again, echoing it's profound, yet simple message.
"There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.
"Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves."*
So much potent and timely guidance in that writing!
As things heat up in our political arena here in the US and abroad; as the very real troubles of illness, disease, death, poverty and violence rise, and as all forms of oppression and suppression on our planet continue to grow, we all find ourselves in a fast flowing river.
Our connections with news is instant, and getting faster by the moment. Is that possible? A speed faster than instant? Our sources of information are vast and getting wider by the moment. Is that possible? An expansion farther than far? Everything is moving, changing, growing, expanding! A new planet was discovered last week! (great article on that here)
What is possible tomorrow is beyond our comprehension today. This is both good news and scary news.
We are in a fast moving river.
And it shall only get faster. Fact. And there is fear. Lots of fear.
(And love. I always will point you to the love.)
What to do? Let go of the sides of the river. It hurts to clutch and hold on to that which does not yield, or is crumbling within our very hands.
Surrender to the flow of the river. Once you do, you will know that you have choices in this fast flowing river. Once you go into the flow, you will see that you are letting go into Destiny. Yours, mine and ours. Your soul knew what it was getting itself into. Your soul came equipped with dive gear, fins, snorkle, and sunscreen.
Fear is natural as we find that which we may have held fast to, suddenly crumbles before our very eyes. Fear for our safety and our communities, our families, our country and our world is natural. And that fear is not the asnwer, nor does it lead to any positive or powerful life giving change. On the other side of the crumble is...possibility and potential.
The river has a destination. The river is your soul agreement to be here at this time. The river is the life force running through you and all of life. Let your soul, your heart, your truth guide you. Open to your life force. Let it take you.
Keep your eyes open. It is with open eyes that you will see that you are safe and with other like minded souls. Your eyes will show you how you are supported.
You may need to float or swim, help out another, be helped or be the powerful builder of new structures that will help all of humanity. Be open to the wisdom of your heart and soul. This is how it works. You are that powerful. But first you must let go of the clinging to the crumbling and be in the life you have before you.
It's all there in the fast flowing river. It is all there for you! You are loved, you are guide, supported and upheld. Everything you need is in that river.
And lest I forget...the Hopi Elder said~ "Don't take anything personally."Good advice I would say in this fast moving, fast paced, gossip laden, sensationalization mongering world we live in. Don't get sucked into that. Stay afloat in the river of love.
February is going to be the month of jumping in, letting go of anything you are clinging to, celebrating and "not taking ourselves personally". Sounds good to me.
I will check in with you on the 29th regarding this topic to find out what that meant to you and how you all did!
Come see me soon!
Have a blessed week.
Mary
