Wisdom Connection
Hello Fellow Wise Travelers,
Have you been honoring your Inner Wise Self? She/he is truly an honorable part of you and to honor this helpful guiding presence within, will assist you in connecting. To honor a part of you is to pay homage, assuming in a positive way that there is an old soul that lives within you.
Your Inner Wise Self is not necessarily your soul, but may be considered an aspect of your soul, or your eternal self.
Your Inner Wise Self loves silence and stillness. It exists within the layers of experiences that, no matter your age are alive within you. It will speak to you through the silence.
There are layers of wisdom unraveling for you as you give space and room for silence, quiet and peace.
Wisdom is contained in between the words, and conversations you have with others. In the silence answers may be made clear, or the resolution may present itself. In the silence of your days, in between the noise, you can get to know your Inner Wise Self.
A valuable way to establish and grow your relationship with your Inner Wise Self is to prepare a time and place of silence. The other items you will need for yourself are a journal, pen and something of beauty or inspiration such as a photo, piece of art or sacred object.
Have at least 15 minutes without interruption. You may pose a question or state an intention. Write this in your journal. Imagine that you are seeking counsel from an ancient Sage who is very connected to any deity that you also seek counsel from. Close your eyes and breathe deeply for a few breaths. See the color or image that represents your Inner Wise Self. Imagine it for yourself. Open your eyes after a minute of this centering practice and gaze upon the item of inspiration. Use your feelings, senses, and the deep imagination (language of your heart and soul and wise self) and write whatever you are experiencing.
Do not censor what you are writing, nor force, but gently and silently write. You may have images of times in your life, or of other beautiful places or times. You may feel various feelings in your body, or hear words pop in. Silence sounds like something too. It has a vibration, sometimes color and oftentimes is a sensory experience of your own body and it's aches, pains or simple functions. Your job is to simply notice and write.
After your time is complete. (A timer is often a good tool to have in order to contain and enhance your experience.) You are to put the writing down, thank your Inner Wise Self, take another few deep breaths, and read over what you wrote. As you read, continue to honor yourself by doing your best to read without judgment or criticism. If you receive a valuable message, that is simply an extra added bonus. The intention for this experience is to have an experience of connecting with your Inner Wise Self. You have done so and the wisdom on offer from within the depths of your own being will continue to enhance your day.
Messages from your Inner Wise Self are steeped in peace and have a foundation of silence and stillness. What that means is that they will usually feel positive, and will have an aura of "I knew that". The goal in connecting is to open yourself to this part of you that IS Wise and holds the Truths of your own being.
Imagine a life where you have a trusted Guide within you and carry her/him with you everywhere. Imagine a life in which you begin to trust yourself and your own knowing and truth, a little bit more at a time. What a worthy and worthwhile pursuit.
Have a blessed and beautiful week, Wise Ones.
Love,
Mary
