The Rhythm of Life

Life has a rhythm of attachment and loss."
We can not escape either one in our collective dance of humanity and  spirituality here on Gaia. It is up to each one of us to find this rhythm within ourselves, and go with it, open to it.
Individually we may each turn within and honor the song that is being sung by our hearts at this time.
What is it for you? Is the sweet song of attachment pulling at your heart. Telling you to open to the experience of love that is knocking on your door, asking you to step out into the cool night, turn your face upward and bask in the starlight? Is it the touch of a loved ones hand upon your back or his or her warmth next to you asking you to soften, open up and feel the depth of love you have for this fellow human spirit?
Attachment is  the result of opening to love and going deeply into the experience of a full and blissful heart. In our human experience we can not help but become attached. It is not a negative thing, it is a desire born of the experience of a deeply profound love.
Yet too strong of an attachment becomes a disturbing rhythm. We become frozen and shut down, unable to dance if attachment takes over.  Letting go of something we dearly love, have come to grasp, or hold tight to, brings us into the arms of Loss.  Loss adds to the depth of our love if you let it. It speaks of the timeless and everlasting aspect of ourselves, if you allow it. Loss is a universal fear, one that we might deny and defend to our physical deaths, never experiencing the undeniable balancing rhythm of attachment and loss, the human spiritual experience.
If loss is the pull of your heart at this time,  go deep into its arms, allowing your tears to fall and fall until you are surrounded by the glistening healing. Feel the support and love of so many others and of yourself. Open yourself to loss and its fullness, open to the depths of your compassionate heart. It is here that you will find the soulful rhythm of your true self.
Come home to the deepest rhythm of your own experience.
