Inspiring minds want to know

Hello Fellow Travelers,
It is the end of fall. The last bits of leaves on the trees, the last bits of green and the last bits of light are hanging on. The days are now becoming shorter as we release the fall and enter slowly into winter.
DId you realize that the days will progressively grow darker until December 21. Then the days grow progressively lighter. For now, we are in the time between. The time between seasons, and the time between light and dark. Mostly dark.
This between time is highly useful. The light fades and the darkness is rich and full. Slowly, we enter into the coldest months here, the least colorful and the quietest. The earth is quiet. The plants are sleeping and when the sun shines, it has a misty glow.
The life is still vibrant, yet it is quieter, and if you really listen you will hear the buzz of life going a bit slower and calmer and deeper into the belly of the Earth.
The longer nighttime is calling to you. It is pulling you inward. To contemplate before acting, to slow before rising, and to calm before stirring. Connect with the darkness. Beautiful things grow in the darkness, and in the in-between times. We all have grown in darkness. It was our beginning. We grew our first roots in the dark softness of our mother's womb. Life grows in darkness.
This is a grouping of roots, still alive, yet bundled together by the water's edge. Some are above the water, some below. They fascinated me and so I took a picture. And the sun reflected back to me, the raw beauty of what I saw as a dark tangled mess. There is life in the darkest of places. There is always light that will shine on a hopeless mess of tangles roots and show you that all is not lost~ for life grows in darkness.
Have a gloriously quieter, calmer week. And...oh yes, prepare in this way for the Thanksgiving holiday! I will post a Thanksgiving message too.
Love,
Mary
